In 2025, Belarus will issue a commemorative banknote worth 80 rubles, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Soviet people’s victory in the Great Patriotic War (1945–2025). This is one of the rare special issues, which is both historical and political, and reflects the national identity of contemporary Belarus.

1. Main image
Courage of the Defenders of the Brest Fortress Monument

The image of a Soviet soldier with his head bowed, his face stern and determined.

The monument is located in the Brest Fortress – famous for its steadfast resistance to the Nazis in June 1941. This is a symbol of courage, sacrifice and absolute loyalty to the Fatherland.

2. Church
Behind the monument is an image of a Belarusian Orthodox church, representing the traditional faith of the people, the combination of spirituality and patriotism.

3. Mother Homeland Monument
On the right is the goddess of victory (Mother Homeland), holding a sword raised high, a symbol of the glory of the Soviet Union during the war, now honored by Belarus as part of its heritage.

4. Dove and Map of Belarus
The dove symbolizes peace after victory, placed on the background of the map of Belarus, implying that the country remains a land of peace thanks to the sacrifices of previous generations.

5. Additional details
The words 80 год (80 years) and the inscription: Перамогі савецкага народа ў Вялікай Айчыннай вайне (Victory of the Soviet People in the Great Patriotic War).

The year of issue 2025 is clearly printed, marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II on the Soviet front.
